Before and After (Photos taken in 1977 compared to same views in 2009)

March, 1977 - Looking northwest from the road beside Townhouse 23. On the left just before the white Wimpey sign was the main entrance in from Hurontario (now a pathway). Behind the photographer and to the left was the George Wimpey sales office trailer. Today's Mineola Road entrance was the construction and service entrance. August, 2009 - the yellow speedbump is the approximate location of the old Hurontario entrance. The trees directly ahead hide the rear patios of Townhouses 20 to 22. Several of these trees are from Craigie Orchards; the deed of sale to Wimpey included a clause to ensure that Wimpey did not cut them down.

March, 1977 - Looking southeast from beside Townhouse 23. Townhouses 101 & 102 are directly ahead. The George Wimpey sales office trailer is the dark, low building behind the parked cars. Hurontario runs to the right behind the sales trailer. August, 2009 - The same view. The two sheets of plywood and parked cars areroughly where the Wimpey sales office was located, 32 years earlier.

March, 1977 - Looking east from beside Townhouse 23. Townhouse 101 is to the right and Townhouses 33 to 36 are to the left. August, 2009 - The same view.

March, 1977 - Looking southeast from the road in front of Townhouse 101. To the left is the end of Townhouse 33, with the row of Townhouses 85 to 90 heading away from the camera position. Note the Wimpey workers' ladders on Townhouse 90. August, 2009 - The same view. It's hard to believe that all the trees in this and other 2009 photos were nursery grown and stood about 36 inches when planted.

March, 1977 - Looking northeast from our master bedroom window (Townhouse 81). To the left is the row of Townhouses 70 to 76. Our roads remained unpaved for a number of months, causing a muddy lifestyle on rainy days. March, 1977 - Looking northwest from our master bedroom side window (Townhouse 81). To the left is the back of Townhouse row 85 to 90. In the distance across the sea of mud are the rear patio areas of Townhouses 35 to 38.
